Alan Partridge was born in the mind of Steve Coogan, the English actor who has portrayed Partridge since 1991 where he made his first appearance on BBC Radio 4's comedy programme 'On the Hour'. Since then, Partridge has grown to become a British national treasure and was ranked seventh by Channel 4 on their list of 100 Greatest TV Characters.
